DEFENDER L663 FAQs
FITMENT
4 questionsWhat does L663 mean, and which Defender models does it cover?
L663 is the platform code for the current-generation Land Rover Defender introduced for the 2020 model year. It includes Defender 90, 110 and 130 body styles, but parts are not automatically interchangeable between them. Always check the compatibility section on each product page before ordering.
How do I confirm whether a part fits my Defender 90, 110 or 130?
Send us your model, model year, trim, country, left- or right-hand-drive configuration, and clear photos of the original part or mounting area. For lighting, wheels and electronic upgrades, we may also ask for the VIN or photos of the factory connector and current equipment. We recommend confirming fitment before placing the order.
Will a part listed for 2020–2025 also fit a 2026 Defender?
Not necessarily. Land Rover can change connectors, sensors, trim geometry and equipment between model years. A product only fits the years stated on its product page unless our team confirms otherwise in writing. Contact us before ordering for a 2026 vehicle.
Are SUMMER AUTO PARTS products genuine Land Rover parts?
No. Unless a product page clearly states otherwise, our products are independent aftermarket parts designed for compatible vehicles. SUMMER AUTO PARTS is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover. Land Rover and Defender names are used only to identify vehicle compatibility.
INSTALLATION
2 questionsAre the parts plug-and-play?
Some products use factory mounting points or connectors, while others require trim removal, wiring, calibration, drilling, painting or professional installation. “Plug-and-play” applies only when the individual product page explicitly says so. Review the installation notes and contact us if your vehicle has different factory equipment.
Can I install the parts myself?
DIY installation is possible for selected trim and bolt-on products when you have the correct tools and experience. Lighting, wiring, large body panels, wheels and safety-related accessories should be installed by a qualified professional. Product pages and installation guides should show a difficulty level, required tools, approximate time and whether a second person is needed.
LIGHTING
2 questionsDo lighting upgrades require coding or calibration?
Requirements vary by product and vehicle specification. Some lamps may connect without coding, while vehicles with different headlight levels, automatic leveling, adaptive functions or market-specific wiring may require additional work. Check the exact product page and confirm your original light configuration with us before ordering.
Are aftermarket headlights and tail lights road legal in my country?
Vehicle-lighting rules differ by country and region. Confirm the certification markings, beam pattern, light output and left- or right-hand-traffic specification required in your market before purchase and installation. A product should not be described as road legal worldwide. The customer and installer are responsible for checking local requirements.
WHEELS & EXTERIOR
4 questionsDo wheel arches or exterior kits require drilling or cutting?
It depends on the product. Some parts use factory clips and mounting points; others may require drilling, adhesive, trimming, paint preparation or bracket adjustment. Each product page should state the installation method. If that information is missing, contact us before ordering and do not assume the installation is reversible.
Should I choose wide or narrow wheel arches?
Choose narrow arches for a cleaner near-factory profile. Choose wide arches when you want a more aggressive stance or need additional visual coverage for wider wheels and tires. Wheel-arch selection does not by itself guarantee legal tire coverage or eliminate rubbing; wheel offset, tire size, suspension height and local rules must also be checked.
What information is needed for forged-wheel fitment?
Please provide the Defender body style, model year, engine/trim, brake package, current wheel and tire size, intended tire size, and how the vehicle will be used. Wheel diameter, width, offset, bolt pattern, center bore, brake clearance and load rating must be confirmed as a complete system. TPMS sensors and wheel nuts may need to be transferred or purchased separately.
Are painted, gloss-black and carbon-fiber finishes an exact match to my vehicle?
Finish can vary between production batches, display screens and the vehicle’s existing paint condition. Gloss black is a finish description, not a guaranteed match to every factory black. Carbon-fiber weave and clear-coat appearance also vary slightly. For body-color matching, professional local paint preparation is recommended unless the product is sold with a verified paint code.
SHIPPING
2 questionsHow are large items shipped, and are duties included?
Shipping method and price depend on the item size, destination and delivery address. Large products may ship by freight to a commercial address or freight terminal. Residential delivery, liftgate service and delivery appointments may cost extra. Import duties, taxes and customs charges are not included unless your quotation or checkout clearly states that they are. Contact us before ordering if you need a delivered-duty-paid option.
What should I do if a freight shipment arrives damaged or incomplete?
Inspect the cartons and parts before signing. Record all visible damage or shortages on the carrier’s Bill of Lading and take clear photos. For major damage, refuse the shipment when permitted. Contact info@summerautoparts.com within 24 hours with the order number, BOL and photos. Claims may be rejected when damage was not recorded at delivery.
RETURNS & SUPPORT
3 questionsWill installing aftermarket parts affect my vehicle warranty?
Warranty rules and dealer policies vary by market. An aftermarket part may affect coverage if a dealer determines that it caused or contributed to a fault. Keep the original parts, use a qualified installer and ask your local Land Rover retailer about your specific vehicle before making permanent or electrical modifications.
Can I return a part if it does not fit?
Contact us before installation and follow the current Refund Policy. Do not paint, drill, wire, modify or install a part that appears incorrect, because modified or installed products may not qualify for return. Fitment claims should include the vehicle details and photos supplied before purchase. Custom-made and made-to-order products may have separate terms.
How can I get pre-sale technical support?
Email info@summerautoparts.com or use the website contact form. Include your vehicle details, product link and photos of the original part or mounting area. A complete first message helps us confirm fitment faster.
